福建海洋研究所位于厦门市，是福建省科学技术厅直属的综合性海洋科学研究开发机构，设有福建省岛与海岸带管理技术研究重点实验室、台湾海峡及毗邻海域海上调查与数据中心、国际交流培训中心三个中心；海洋化学、海洋生物两个研究科室和“延平2号”海洋科学考察船。现有高级职称科技人员21人，中级职称30人。

    福建海洋研究所是一所公益型综合性海洋科学研究开发机构，主要从事台湾海峡区域海洋学、海洋生物、近海环境、港口工程、海水增养技术、水产养殖新品种的培育等研究。在海域功能区划、用海规划、港口工程、海洋环境监测、海洋地质、海洋生物、海洋生态、海洋化学等领域具有优势和特色。

    Situated in Xiamen, Fujian Institute of Oceanography (FJIO) is a comprehensive scientific research and development institution of marine science directly under Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology. The institute consists of three centres as Fujian Provincial KeyLaboratory of Coast and Island Management Technology Study, Oceanographic Survey and Data Centre of the Taiwan Strait and Its Adjacent Waters, International Communication & Training Centre and two research departments that focus on marine chemistry and marine biology. In addition, FJIO owns “Yan Ping No. 2” scientific research vessel. At present, there are 21 staff with senior professional title and 30 staff with medium professional title working for FJIO.
         As a non-profit comprehensive research institution of marine science, Fujian Institute of Oceanography is mainly engaged in the research of regional oceanography in the Taiwan Strait, marine biology, coastal environmental science, port engineering, mariculture and multiplication technology, as well as the cultivation of aquaculture new breeds. FJIO has got advantages and its own characteristics in many fields such as marine function zoning, sea use planning, port engineering, marine environmental monitoring, marine geology, marine biology, marine ecology and marine chemistry.
