“延平2号”海洋科学考察船是全国唯一的省级地方管理的海洋综合调查船。船上设有海洋物理、地质、化学、浮游生物、底栖生物、微生物等专业实验室7间80多平方米，并配备有卫星定位、3000米测深仪和深水绞车、走航式水动力剖面仪ADCP等海洋水文地质调查采样设备。能乘载海洋科考人员32人，在中国沿海全海域进行各种海洋科学调查活动。“延平2号”已成为国内台湾海峡和南海海洋调查与科研的重要平台，影响日益扩大。 

Research Vessel “Yan Ping No. 2” is the only province owned research vessel in China. Equipped with Globe Positioning System, 300-meter sounder and some other sampling facilities like deep sea winch and ADCP, the research vessel provides 7 professional laboratories of oceanophysics,  marine geology, marine chemistry, marine plankton, marine benthos and marine bacteria with an area of more than 80 m2 and 32 vacancies for scientists on board. The research vessel is suitable for carrying out survey and studies in all the coastal waters in China. Research Vessel “Yan Ping No. 2” has been an important platform for the oceanographic researches in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea and its influence will be greater and greater.
